Started in the late seventies/early eighties, these images were made mostly around the suburban neighborhoods of Riverside, California. Made during the evolving prime of chemical large format color photography, using a 4x5 camera and sheet film, all images were self-printed in a color darkroom in total darkness. Each sheet of film was a separate exposure. The work was Influenced by New Topographics, but I also wanted to integrate a full color film palette, using the optimal color tonal ranges of the film and print materials. The images themselves are an index of an ordered confluence of the natural and man-made.
