Started in the late 1990s with the idea of pushing representation to the edges of the frame, and letting negative space dominant a representational medium, this is the last of the fully traditional darkroom projects, using Fuji medium format color negative film and Fuji chromogenic color darkroom print materials. The original darkroom prints were printed 18x18 inches on 20x24 paper. The exhibition prints were cut full bleed to the image and mounted on 30x30 black sintra boards, using the board as an expansion of the negative space. The idea evolved into the Looking West Project, which is still ongoing.
